The CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge (CSXC) is a global platform to advance innovation and collaboration in sustainability within the built environment. Through the CSXC, CapitaLand aims to source for emerging solutions/technologies globally to solve sustainability challenges impacting our business and accelerate our progress to meet
CapitaLand's 2030 Sustainability Master Plan targets.
From 10 November 2020 to 17 February 2021, the CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge is calling for proposals across the globe to make buildings more climate-resilient and resource-efficient focused on four key areas: (i) low carbon transition; (ii) water conservation & resilience; (iii) waste management & circular economy and (iv) healthy & safe buildings. 6 shortlisted participants will undergo mentorship and coaching to refine their proposals for the Grand Finale pitch. Shortlisted participants will present to a panel of judges during the Grand Finale in May 2021.
Solutions should address one of the following challenge statements:
#1 Low carbon transition: How might we achieve onsite clean energy solutions for existing buildings?
#2 Low carbon transition: How might we achieve significant reduction in energy consumption for existing buildings?
#3 Water conservation & resilience: How can we adopt new ways of managing water in existing properties in order to detect abnormalities in the water usage pattern and/or leakages?
#4 Water conservation & resilience: How might we reduce potable water usage in existing buildings with water harvesting and/or recycling methods?
#5 Waste management & circular economy: How might we better segregate waste at source for recycling or treatment?
#6 Waste management & circular economy: What is a viable circular economic solution that CapitaLand can introduce to manage resources and waste across CapitaLand properties and construction sites?
#7 Healthy & safe buildings: How might we improve indoor air quality (IAQ) to enhance wellness of users in our existing buildings?
How to enter the CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge
First-stage - Registration Form:
- Register a user account on Submit.com by clicking the blue Apply button to the right of this page. Please check your junk folder if you do not receive a confirmation email in your main inbox.
- Return here to complete the Registration Form with the necessary details of your project. This is the first stage of the application process.
Second-stage - Full Submission Form:
- Should your project qualify, you will receive a follow-up email directing you to the Full Submission Form within 7 calendar days of registration. This is the second stage of the process.
- The Full Submission Form is where you'll be asked for more details to support your project. This includes regulatory approval, intellectual property or licenses used, project milestones, and more.
This is a two-stage application process, you are required to complete both the Registration and Submission Forms via Submit.com before 2359hrs Singapore Time (GMT +8) on Wednesday, 17 February 2021. Shortlisted finalists will be announced by 31 March 2021.
The CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge welcomes all enterprises and innovators to join the challenge.
You are eligible if you are:
a. aged 18 years or older.
b. Not an employee of CapitaLand Group or Eco-Business.
c. Not directly involved in the organization of or judging of the Challenge;
d. Not immediate family members of any person directly involved in the organisation of or judging of the Challenge; and
e. proposing a solution that is at least at
Technology Readiness Level 6: Solutions must have formulated its technology concept and application, undergone analytical and characteristic proof of concept. Components must be validated in a laboratory and relevant environment.
